By creating an account or using the Conchquest mobile application ("Conchquest," "the app," "we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Conchquest provides environmental shelling forecasts (the "Shelling Score"), a shell identification library, and a community feature for logging and sharing shell finds, including location data, photos, and notes.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you may only use Conchquest with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We'll close accounts we learn belong to anyone under 13.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
Conchquest uses your device location to generate shelling forecasts for nearby beaches and to let you log finds with GPS coordinates. You choose, per find, whether it's shared publicly (exact location shown to the community) or kept private (visible only to you) — see our Privacy Policy for details.
When you post a shell find, photo, note, or comment ("User Content"), you keep ownership of it, but you grant Conchquest a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it within the app and in Conchquest marketing, for the purpose of operating the service. You agree not to post content that:
The Shelling Score and all forecasts are estimates based on tide, weather, and community data. Conditions on the water and the beach can change quickly. You're responsible for your own safety — check official marine and weather advisories, especially during storms, and never enter unsafe surf conditions.
Shell library entries, rarity labels, and regional guidance are provided for educational purposes only. Laws on which shells may be collected — including live shells and protected species — vary by location and change over time. It is your responsibility to know and follow local, state, and federal regulations before collecting. Conchquest is not liable for collection that violates applicable law.
Premium features are not yet available. Once launched, they will be billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, managed via RevenueCat. Subscriptions will renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, through your Apple or Google account settings. Refunds will be handled by Apple or Google per their respective policies.
Be respectful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that harass other users, post spam, misrepresent shell species, or otherwise violate these terms, at our discretion. Our Community Guidelines describe what's expected in more detail.
You may not scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or use automated means to access Conchquest or its API, or extract other users' finds or location data for commercial purposes, without our written permission. You may not create accounts to evade a suspension.
Conchquest is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of tide, weather, or scoring data, which is sourced from third-party environmental data providers and community submissions. The "Shelling Strategy" text summary is generated by a third-party AI provider and may occasionally be inaccurate; it is guidance, not a substitute for the Shelling Score's underlying data.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Conchquest is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including injury sustained while shelling or reliance on forecast data.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. We'll notify you of material changes in-app before they take effect.
